    Thicker Head Gasket V6?

Is there a thicker head gasket than the typical replacement Mercury Marine 27-41246-1 part number?

I have a set of heads that have a bit more decking than I can use for pump gas on a fishing boat. The gaskets on it now are 3.38" bore. Merc V6 200hp Carb.

I am trying NOT to have any more issues getting this mota in the water.

    Thanks!

call jay at jays marine. see what he can do and look real hard at o-ring conversion. i have wasted too many motors to non-o-ringed motors.

Wish I knew. I am visiting Camden, SC to help a friend get his boat together and using minimal tools to get it done. If there is anyone in the area with a compression tester... I would love to give it a spin!

I'm waiting on a head gasket, resealing the powerhead and installing the poppet tomorrow. Send me a PM with the address, I might get everything completed and give you a ring.

    Thanks!
