80 mercury jet
Hi, maybe someone can help me out. I have a 2014 mercury optimax 80 jet. The motor runs great except the wot rpm is only 4900. Is there a reason for this? Can I do something to get this motor up to 5600?

Send me your impeller. It needs a recut to see the proper RPM. The 4 stroke jets just don't turn their 2 stroke counterparts impellers properly you have to change exit angles and impeller blade profile to get the RPM out of them. The cut and increased rpm generally adds about 3 mph as well
