What about welding this cavitation plate? photos
I know that skegs are not welded
It looked like welding cavation plates may be acceptable.
Low speed application as long as I own the motor- big boat.

I bet that pissed you off.
Weld it, cav plate has little function other than spray diverter in most of it's needs. Meaning it is lightly loaded.
FWIW they are highest loaded at lowest speeds.Regards,

As stated above,but drill the end of that crack,and be prepared for it to break off when you straighten it.Then weld it back on.

Drill yes but I would also cut a v groove top and bottom.

No issues running a welded cavitation plate. Hardly sees any load at all

Put a Bob's Big Foot on it. Helps planning and adds a bunch of strength. Great on a fishing boat. Not like a "Whale Tail". Mounts under and covers tha whole area, Out of the water at planning speeds anyway.
