OptiMax 200XS SST
Can a consumer purchase one of these motors? If so, how much are they? Also, is the horsepower WAY underrated or are they really around 200?

As far as rating...... if they have a number, that is the rated horsepower at a given RPM.... in this case it is 200 @ 8000 RPM............... As far as purchasing one, this is a race engine for a specific use..... not intended for recreational use, so pretty much useless unless you are racing (unless of course, you deem it proper and prove it is a great motor for your 21' Carolina skiff). Can a consumer purchase this motor? Well...... in general terms....... no. But if you have money and you find a dealer who will sell you this motor, then yes, a consumer can buy this motor....... but with any "race" designation, be prepared to pay..... a minimum of 20k - 25K if you are not a sponsored race team............. not including tips.............
