250xs 250xb power head swap questions

I am thinking of swapping power heads on my two motors
one is a 2004 250xs with a 25 inch mid and HD bracket
The other is a 2000 or so 250xb with a 20 inch mid and 3 ram trim
I plan on using my HD trim bracket on the 20 inch mid
I cant swap over the tuner and adapter plate from my xs because it has a 25 inch mid and the tuner is too long.
My question is will the will the exhaust tuner and adapter plate from the xb work with the xs
The part numbers are exactly the same except for the last number. for example xs is 12345A3 and the xb is 12345A2
I cant remember the actual number
    thanks

optimax and efi have some differences in the adapter plates one is the capacity to get rid of the pump air into the midsection on the dfi plates the efi wont have them there are also sensors in the dfi you may have to plug something im not real sure i recently took the adapter off a blown 2006 optimax to mount a efi adapter on the stump and then install a 2000 efi power head on it welost all the dfi stuff

Are you sure that the 25 tuner is longer?? All the 20 and 25 inch tuners that ive seen are the same length. Should be a direct fit. If you keep the right adapter with its powerhead it will be an easy swap. Adapters have small differences between the 2...

the part numbers between the 20 and 25 inch were different, I hope they are a direct swap over tho, it would make my life alot easier. I haven't taken either one apart yet. I just want to get my ducks in a row. I dont want to be stuck with 2 motors torn down and not be able to either one.
    Thanks
