1983 Comp Laser LTV (narrow deck)

Selling my 1983 Comp Laser LTV narrow deck (hull and trailer only). This is a true factory race boat that weighs ~500#. I bought the boat a few years back and replaced all the wood (transom, knee braces, stringers and floor), boat has a foam core which is fine. At one point the deck was painted black and the previous owner started to remove. I finished removing the paint then wet sanded and buffed to the current finish. Overall looks pretty decent with a few areas that need some attention if desired. The boat is rigged with the following:

Rigged for OMC
New T-H Marine foot throttle
New Nydaul Shifter
6'' Vance manual jackplate
New 12gal fuel tank
Trim switch on the steering wheel
Teleflex true dual rack and pinion steering w/new cables
7k tach, trim, temp, and water psi gauges

If buyer wants to run a Mercury I do have a merc wiring harness for the boat I could throw in with the deal. Foot throttle and shifter will accept merc cables...

Boat sits on steel trailer. Has new tires, freshly packed bearings, new bunks, and all the lights work fine. Ready to haul anywhere...

This is the port corner. Took a hit at some point before I bought it. I reglassed the under side during the resto but never addressed the top side...

This the starboard side, somebody did some repair work and just put white paint over the work... Not sure what the damage was.

That looks a little like the boat I raced in '84. Where did it come from?

I bought the boat from a guy that lives just south of Rochester, NY and i believe he bought the boat from someone from/around Alex Bay, NY. I thought it was mentioned that the boat came from down by Long Island or somewere down that way but not sure... I guess at one point it had a 2.4 Merc on it.

It could be. If it is the one, Chip Watkins from LI drove it in 85, I drove it in 84. It belonged to Major Marine in VA, but I think Chip ended up with it. It was originally white with blue trim.

I dont think it is, this boat has always been blue and red. One previous owners contacted me via PM and it sounds like the boat has been in NY most/or all its,life....

Tiger I have the third Mod-VP ready to run. Get Smokey to buy it. I was told that I ran Major Marine's old boat at a backyard race in the mid 80's. It was solid black at the time, that goes with the story in the beginning.

Who is this? We ran a few backyard races as well as an NOA race in SC.

Melvin Nash, I kept my Hydrostream for a mid life crisis. You where not driving the boat when I raced it. When I saw this ad I thought it was Bens old boat. The tunnel hull he built was the same colors as this hull. Are you sure about the color, Scooter had a white and blue hull.
