I was wondering if the course will be set out further than it was last year. I know from last year it was ran in shallow water and more than a few of us had dinged up props and so forth.

Not that I know of John. Koshkonong Speed Runs have been the same weekend every year since we started it in 1996. This is the event's 19th anniversary year. I think we were the first to do a speed run competition for smaller lake boats. Prior to Kosh Speed Runs my brother started the Koshkonong Bootleg Boat Run (race across the lake and back) in the late 1980s when he owned Anchor Inn. When he sold Anchor, we moved the event over to the north shore and changed it to speed runs when I bought Sunset in 1995. Leigh and I sold Sunset Tavern in 2005 and the event has continued on with the current owners, Rick & Terri Grant. I believe this aerial photo was from 1997 or 1998.
