Very cool new toy. HD bore/endoscope that plugs into a smartphone

There is a thread in tech on these inexpensive scopes but I am so impressed with the one I just go I wanted to share it here in general discussion. The uses around the shop, house, bedroom are endless.

It shipped from China so took awhile. I had to add an app to the phone called camerafi from the google play store. Im sure there are other apps that work but this one was super easy with a button to click to snap a pic or video.
Very impressed with the pic quality and MUCH easier to use than the crap software that came with the first USB camera I bought for my laptop. Beats pulling a head to take a look at a cylinder in a parking lot or trying to look through a spark plug hole with s flashlight and a towel over your head to block out the light ( been there! ). Reed inspection, gearcase, etc etc. That fact that it pugs right into the phone in my pocket is awesome.
The camera end is tiny and well lit with LEDS and a control on the cord for brightness.

Time to lean her out. Nice clear pic of piston wash shows she is pretty fat.

This is the best pic I could get with the old scope that plugged into my laptop. The software that came with this one was sketchy and constantly crashed.

Sweet...just bought one.....thanks for heads up.

Question...if u find your self on the lean side.....will u get wash after richening or do u have to pull heads and clean first for accurate readings?

Piston wash will adjust itself in fairly short time in my experience. The cool fuel hitting the piston will clean the carbon off if your going fatter.
    Larger wash = rich
    Smaller wash = lean
No wash = SQUEAK BOOM :-)

I am still sitting here wondering how in the hell they can sell this for less then my dinner will cost tonight. Amazing whats available to us today, seems like only yesterday that we were impressed with the flexable tiny bulb flashlight to look into cylinders and paid more for it-

    Thanks for sharing Chris,

Yep, I have had one for a year. I use it for viewing all sorts of things that I cannot see by naked eye.

The fuel/air ratio is too high (rich) which causes the cylinder walls to "wash" the oil off causing potential ring/piston scuffing and bearing wear. "Fat" means rich.

May be wrong, but wash refers to the "clean" area on the piston dome.
The cool fuel coming in "washes" off the carbon deposits. Looking at the piston top the wash is the clean area.

too much fuel also means too much oil
If you were talking 4 strokes, i would agree.
