I finally got the boat in the water yesterday, the 300x I bought with 60 hrs hadnt been run for over 2 years so there were gremlins, I ended up changing all the seals, drive shaft, and prop shaft, also replaced the fuel pump, so as soon as the weather breaks Ill see what this thing does, when I bought the the Tuff from John Mcnight he explaned that he didnt set the boat up for the tall numbers and he ran it in the low 90's with the setup he had, it was more important to feel the excelleration than the big numbers, so as I test Ill post results,
Also I read that Tuff is no longer building 21's that can be rigged with big hp
"As the TUFF 21 has evolved, it has gotten faster and faster, so the need for a bigger safer platform has come. The new TUFF 24 will be the new platform to carry the 250+ hp outboards and I/O power. The new design should be at least as fast as the TUFF 21 was with the same power. The new TUFF 21 builds will shift down to support the 150-200hp O/B segment."
