Ok, you had a totally different prop when you blew out, thought you had the same one on it. Well, at least you know you can go even higher with the motor than 1" above the pad and still get plenty of good cooling when you bajabag the side water inlets. Throw that ET back on it today and see what she does at the current 1" above.

kev the tuff has plenty of bow lift, why did you close up the top holes ?

If anyone else has been 100+ on an m2 case I'd like to hear the story cause I've never herd of anyone doing it. Even the Aussies just get a sporty and they aren't scared of anything

Thanks that was my old setup now that mid is cut to 12" and getting a cool clamp. That setup was probably the lightest 3.4 in the country. Believe it or not A sporty is much heavier then a m2.

The big robust skeg and skeg root on a sporty might weigh 1/3rd the total wt of the unit. Designed to surfaced and run with only the skeg in the water. Gotta be tough to not break with all that stress.

I agree that's why my 16" Taylor hs a sporty under it now. I'll take a little extra weight for the reliability, big gear and saftey. Nothing like a reliable case when your 80 miles from the boat ramp and can cruise at 90 the whole time.

It's raining so I just threw a Sportmaster case on a scale. Filled with gear oil it weighs 54 lbs.

Given the placement of the BRP M2 case's 6 nose water inlets, have you and your crew ever considered tapping the top 2 holes and closing them with removable hex screws for chits and giggles?

Agree...this boat seems to have no problem carrying the bow.
