Mt. Dora area FL area info
Headed to Mt. Dora this weekend for our 18 year anniversary. Taking the boat along to do a little exploring. Appreciate any recomendations for restaurants, must see stuff, waterway info, etc.

Thanks all. Looks like things are going to be a little tropical this weekend. 90-100% chance of rain every day.

Happy 18th anniversary! The Harris Chain is one of my wife's and mine favorite destinations in Central Florida. In fact, it is our "favorite" and we try to get there each week end weather permitting. We drive over from Lakeland and we put in at the Venetian Park ramp in Leesburg. It is about an hour and 20 minute drive from our home in Lakeland. The lakes are large where you can really stretch your rig out and the Dora canal is perhaps the prettiest canal in Florida to idle through. Lake Dora has a nice public ramp to launch at also if you are staying in Mount Dora. The weather forecast as you have said appears to be less than desirable this week end. Good luck, hope the weather allows you to log some time on the chain. Either way you will get a little understanding of the area should you desire to return some other time. I would love to meet up with you on the water sometime. I have followed your posts and have always been very impressed with the #'s that you are achieving with your V4. Again happy anniversary! John

we stayed at the lakeside inn in dora, picturesque, walking distance to the village, lots of eateries, we went to the highest recommended "dining" establishment, was nice, food was yummy, price,,, eeah. someone refered a Cuban establishment that was said to be the" value added " deal there, I'd give it a whirl. the breakfast buffet at the lake view is no big deal. there was a sign on the lawn next to it advertising a big breakfast as better, I can't see how it wouldn't be. for what it's worth. fun out

Take the boat to wooten park, waterfront Tavares, Al's landing and several other good restaurants and bars. It's where we do the vintage races.
