I am almost ready to paint the engine , spent a good part of the day today messin with the push rod guide plates to get the roller rockers to ride across the center of the valves , it took some time but worked out well . I installed the timing chain cover , water pump and the fuel pump , keep in mind you have to clearance Edelbrock heads where the fuel pump mounts . I have to either buy tall valve covers or buy 1/2 inch spacers for my stock covers too fit over the rocker studs more money lol.

Thanks Dan , i used ez off oven cleaner to strip the anodizing off then spent 3 or 4 weekends with a sisal buffing wheel on a electric die grinder , a very messy time consuming job lol .

Amazing engine work Gil! You prolly have as much in the engine as you do in the whole boat...LOL. When you removed the anodizing on the molding did you spray some sort of clear on the molding? The last time I sanded and buffed aluminum I kept getting black crap all over everything...rubbed off of the aluminum. Don't want that happening to my restored Hustler..am planning on putting white seats in....wouldn't look too nice smeared in BLACK

Can't wait to see both of our boats finished and in the water...I think I'm gonna rig the motor and go for a boat ride after I spray the last couple of clear/duratec coats on saturday. Will finish the sanding and buffing during the winter. Keep up the good work!
