St Louis area boating thread

Im starting this thread for people in the St Louis area that are headed to the water and mite want to meet up with other boaters here. I personally usually cruise in the Alton pool around Grafton downing some cold one on Enterprise island or on the Missouri river anywhere between Washington and Hermann up to the Gasconade river.

I've lived here for several years now and have found very few good places to boat. Never been to Alton before. How is the boating for small performance boats (Hydrostream, Allison, etc)?

When the water is up like it is now, the Meramec is a decent place and close by for me. Other times, I usually go to the Kaskaskia which is about an hour and a half away. I haven't been out in the boat at all this year but would be willing to meet up if we can get a few folks interested.

I'm down, but out of town this weekend.
stratos, Grafton is where we got stuck a few years back picking the wrong cut between the Illinois and Mississippi.

need to call Lipton at performance propellor, last year he told me there was a group that met up weeknights on a island somewhere on miss and did some beach racing

Bob, what kinda boat ya got? I need to get out there soon but unfortunately I don't have any junk props or gearcases.......rode by there today and it still looks like theres still a lot of large stuff floating in the river right now.

I have a vegas xt with a kottmaha. yeah a lot of stuff floating but cleared up here and there the pool below George winter was fine.

Where is that what river? Is there sand really not covered by water? Would be good for wife's and kids

everything still pretty wet Nathan. might try to put in at piasa and head towards grafton if anyone is going.

River level will be good. Plenty of sand for family and kids

River will be at 21' saterday. Iv been out there at 28' and still plenty of sand for gathering on. Ill be at the sandbar on the Mississippi that is about 1 mile up from where the Illinois river dumps in.
