Is CFD used in the design of these hulls now?

From that picture it does not look like real steps on the bottom of the rear sponsons??
cut outs but not what I would call steps , steps change the height of the running surface ...
I wonder how it will turn at high / racing speeds
Below is a picture of a Bat boat , those ARE STEPSWe have invented the world; WE see

Undoubtedly, this boat is going to be the baddest lake/river outboard boat to ever hit the water when it does finally get wet. A 130mph 28' cat w/ Optis is just awesome - PERIOD! However, the million $$$ question is how much is it going to cost? The reason Pete hasn't sold a new 28' in over two years (and will probably be destroying the molds soon) is because a new 28 Skater w/ Optis on a trailer will set you back over $200k for a bare-bones boat. Add a nice paint job, 15" mid conversion and some electronics and you're looking at a $250k 28' cat that will run 120. For us performance nuts, the 10mph gain this new 28 will probably have over a 28 Skater is very impressive, but will it be enough for somebody to spend that kind of coin? I hope the manufacturer can figure a way to get his production costs down to bring a fully decked out rig in at less than $200k. If he can do that, I think he'll sell some of these. If it's going to be in the $250k+ range, I don't think you'll see many of them sold. Remember, there has only been ONE 32DW outboard pleasure boat ever built/sold - because that rig came in at $300k+. For that kind of money, nobody wanted a 115mph 32' cat - as impressive as it is for it's size and power.

I'm in my 30's love the sport and spend every day reading this forum. Every week I put money aside to build my project Argo and now 21 skater. When all said and done I'll be in deeper than I wanted on both. But I really gotta ask who buys a $200k boat? What profession does the person that buys one of these do? Man I wish I could swing it sure is awesome

Business owners and real estate guys for the most part. I've met the occasional lawyer or doctor, but mostly businessmen or real estate guys. Quite a few family inheritance (silverspoons) guys also. Not too many working for wages/salary buy quarter million $$$ on up rigs.
