Guys better start looking for 280s as twins on this thing would put up some serious numbers. I Just can't get over the size of the tunnel!

This boat is big enough to handle XSs. It was proven in Marathon this past weekend that they are equal to or better then 280s in performance numbers (stock vs stock for an application like this). Scott ran a pair of 300XSs, Kyler Talbot had 280s and the race pack data shows their accel. and speed numbers equal for multiple laps. Scotts boat has the narrow tunnel and is heavier then Kyler's new all carbon boat so he will be really fast when he makes the switch. I think this is going to be a high 120s boat with XS power when its done.

I agree with you Joe. I'm guessing it should come in under/around 3,500#s fully rigged/ready for the water. There's another 2mph left on the table with my 28 (take back seat out/install race hatch), so if a 3,700# 28 Skater will run 122 w/ XSs, I see no reason this new DW28 wouldn't get at least 5-8mph more with the same power.

.
I was lucky enough to visit the factory today.
DW will NOT be building these 28's
Beautiful hull though
The plug is all orange in color today. Seems to be some sort of coating used for finalizing the surface
Then will be sent to RGR is what I was toldLast edited by noli; 07-09-2015 at 08:58 PM.

Rick might even use his as a fishin boat. Wouldn't it be terrible to get passed by a boat with fishin poles stickin out of the holders . Course seein a couple of the new RGR/Monty 450+ HP V-8's hangin off the back might make it a little more bearable ...

What do you mean over there?? Most of todays Offshore races are smooth water, all the boats will start shrinking down again in size, and soon will probally end up around 24-26 ft and be single engines..

Now that the 300XS is a race legal choice, I think that the 32 foot range hulls are here to stay- However, this new 28 would have been the boat to have in Marathon. The water was mostly flat and there were multiple hairpin turns. Mike, I think that you need to team up with Todd and I will watch the show!!

Slightly less than on a 13' Biel ..
All kidding aside , the first renditions are going to be on the mild side,
3.854 x 3 to live a long and happy life. Still 280 ci should make over 400 hp ..
Kev , however you know as well as I, the boss really like his 4 inch bore stuff ..
