RGR / Doug Wright 28'
With all the talk of using a single 400 and breaking 100 mph barrier .
I would have to think that ( these are spy photo's of the new plug ) the new RGR / Doug Wright 28' would be a prime candidate . Wide tunnel , flat multi air vented sponson's , light weight construction ...
The first one's getting a a pair of big-bore RGR / Monty V-8 prototypes , but I'm sure they will have one with a 400 when they become a little more available ...

I love the flatter/shallow sponsons. I have been wondering when someone would try it. I was actually thinking someone would try a pad on the tail end of each sponson.

It looks like it's going to be a very fast smooth water boat. The progressive deadrise sponsons (looks like approximately 12/16, whereas a Skater bottom is constant 18) are similar to what the Victory X-Cats are like. The flatter sponsons (with virtually no lifting strake) at the entry will more than likely turn very well also (again, similar to what Victory developed to turn better). It looks to me like they're going after the X-Cat class, now that they only run smooth water races over there. Undoubtedly, it will perform incredibly, but it obviously isn't designed for rough water. Cool to see new outboard cats in the works!

Noli ,
I probably have a few more good years left in me before they put me out to pasture ..
Rick George ( climax here on S+F ) is the hub of this and many other projects. You can catch up to some of the boats they already build at their Texas facility ...
