Brutal 90mph spin out caught on video

In the First race of the UIM Offshore World 3C Championsips last Wednesday Micke Bengtsson and his sister Marie had a spin out while leading the first lap at around 90mph coming into the tight harbour turn in their Twister 24 with a 200XS. He went on to win this heat, and the overall championship! I was watching from the quay around 50 yards away, the violence of the spin was pretty scary! Hopefully the Facebook link works

there was no turn when that happened,,,,may be ahead some
but all boats were going straight past that point
the bow was flying way to high,,,probably hit a wind pack in that spot after the little left bend
and he trimmed down to lower bow
packed air kept the transom up
all it takes at that point of a loose tail is tiny wiggle of the wheel or prop let loose
did dam good driving correct it with steering and throttle to get back going same direction
1 of the downfalls of a true tunnel,,,,,if slam bow at high speeds ,,,transom comes loose

i assume it has a stepped hull as well so when the bow came down the stern lifted off after seeing that i can see why most of the true tunnels the water line is straight all the way back
he was just riding along singing his song then bam

lol,,,yea all is good till they get quiet,,,,,
meaning not hearing/feeling the water pounding the bottom
spun out a few times threw the yrs
1 was not good when I was tboned from my mistake
he had no where to go but over my capsule,,,,
here is a pic of what I mean when bow gets too high the transom lifts with it
as boat is trying to kite off the water
so wnem blip throttle or trim too much down
transom stays up as it is already loose at that point
as can see prop is already out also

Remote pickups are not allowed, but you can modify sportsmaster cases to some strict rules. The pickup cannot be any lower than the lowest point of the bearing carrier, and must be in the front 30% of the case. He was pushing extremely hard at this point!

My first MVP boat 1982 was the factory Venus Hydrostream MVP boat , my motor builder / prop guy told me to put a 12 pad on it, sooo I did...
What a mistake , it would spin out like that pushing the boat in a corner , for racing it SUCKED , but was great entertainment at the local water hole , I could go strait for shore spin the wheel and do a 180.

First pass in this video you get a glimpse of an Allison XR2001 hooking. The tunnel seemed to spin on top of the water where as an Allison will dig in. It's happened in boats with data logging telemetry and the boat will pull over 4 g's doing this
