Florida boat trailer registration question
Can someone post a picture of what a florida registration looks like? I bought a boat and trailer from FL and got a transferable reg that looks like a photo copy.
Our DMV here in new york wont accept it, The seller said that is what Florida DMV issues
Thanks in advance

They do look very generic. Have them make a phone call to the Tag office in the county that it was registered and they can verify it for you.

Here in new york the DMV office is a difficult place to deal with, every one of the people behind the counter acts like they hate their job and you are just a problem for them.

That's nation wide-just imagine how miserable they would be if they weren't communist and had to get a real job or run their own business. I had to tell a lady in there last month to remember that she worked for me/us the public tax payers and that I didn't want to be there wasting my time or money either.

I picked up a boat from Fla last Dec and that was what I was given as well. Not sure about NY but they would not register the trailer without a notarized bill of sale to accompany the registration..

The process without a clear Title can be a real PITA. The general rule at DMV is a notarized bill of sale. It must be notarized and do yourself a favor and have the actual sellers signature done in blue ink as well. On the registration if there is ANYTHING that looks like it was copied you can forget it.

That's one of the new "larger" registration's.
Since it is not a motorized vehicle, they don't require a title. Most older trailers don't have a VIN number either.
I didn't get a MSO with my trailer , the girl gave me a form to fill out which I either needed to go to a weigh station or have a weight claimed by the MFG. Once I knew how much it weighed , they rolled it right thru...
If the trailer is "claimed" to be under 500 lbs , they usually just tag it as "home made". Of course if a DOT or Highway Patrol officer , pull's you over. You better not have a triple axle , electric over juice brakes , behemoth strapped behind you dualie .
Kind of like the fish market ... they sell tags , by the pound ..

DMV sucks period. Anything I can do online makes things easier not to deal with the trolls at a facility! I typically use an expediter that knows the ins and outs of what will or wont work. Stupid me try and do it myself! (never again). What I want to know is how do all these non english speaking or writing people that are filling the waiting rooms in the DMV offices get anything done?

Yes the Florida registration is literally out of a copy machine and looks like a photocopy. When I registered my boat and trailer in Florida they gave me my title and registration back and said they didnt need them. All done at the County Tax Office.

Ya the FL trailer registration is just that. Also functions as a 'bill of sale'. All's ya gotta do is fill in the empty spaces when ya sell it.
If'n it looks like the one pictured above. it's authentic.'71 Glastron V153 - Composite rebuild - Unceremoniously wrecked

Naturally this concept is alien to those working for the NY DMV ...
Imagine ... One 'form' that serves two purposes! Say it ain't so ...'71 Glastron V153 - Composite rebuild - Unceremoniously wrecked
