"Thunderball" this summer will be on display at Valleyfield , Quebec races shortly, then off to the Switzer Reunion near Chicago followed by Rideau Ferry Regatta, Wolfeboro and can't miss the fun OFF-CRA -Tavares event in November - I encourage you to come out to these events and see the boat and say Hi!

Do any of the vintage/historic events have courses long enough to get a wing up and flying? Having seen them up close and personal flying by me I can tell you it is cool. Looking over and seeing the whole thing clear of the water and only touching once in a while will really get your attention. But you need a little room to make it happen.

---mine has a weight issue - me -it is then front heavy where as Gene, Kenny K, Roger and Rich wouldn't have that same issue- Rich or Roger are best to say about the courses because until this year I have had perennial engine issues-

Rich and I both got Miss Diablo to "fly" at our first outing with it at Gravenhurst. Since then we've done a lot to the boat/motors but have encountered rather short courses. It takes the in-line 6's some time to get going, even with the water injection (Thank you Gene for the help with these). We are definitely getting the boat to lift, but the corners come too quickly for the inlines. Maybe at Rideau Ferry we'll get a longer course?

I got mine to fly the first time on a long stretch of water on the bay near me and its something I will never forget-and it was the strangest feeling- as the boat lifts at throttle you feel like you are going faster even when backing down on the throttle and the sound of the engines seems to disappear - the sound of the air around you and through the tunnel becomes prominent with an eerie presence ! and I bet the 18 footers are even more dramatic on long stretches

Gene, I thought maybe that was the time you couldn't catch Bobby. I was going to send you a picture of us loading his boat on the trailer. Guess i'm busted..

I'm old Gene, sorry. We had Bobby's boat in the water waiting for him. He showed up just in time for the start, in dress clothes and shoes, slightly tipsy. We couldn't believe it when he actually finished and won. As soon as he got out of the boat, he puked the last nights scotch.
What happened to the good old days? Are we living them now?
