Assume the 28 will do 90mph with a single light on fuel. Will you be happy with that? It starts with that decision.

Then, on the other side of the ledger, say you have a $125k budget. The shear number of slightly older boats that are out there (in mint condition) today is amazing. Each of them has taken the major hit for you on depreciation so you can buy a 5 year old $250k 100mph V bottom boat for $125k. That's your next decision.

In the interim you might buy the fastest SOB in North America, the used Tuff 21 that's for sale, and have a 105mph little guy to have some fun with while you sort out the options across the board at 28 feet for a year.

Dirk, Take a ride around the Island in you new Vette, you know, the one sitting in your garage, and contemplate your idea of a nicely balanced 28' single outboard that will run 85 to 90 in our waters as comfortably as the ride in the 2015 Corvette you are driving. Oh, and with the extra 50-100 grand you have in your pocket, buy a new Harley or a set of gold clubs. Its all about balance! When you tire of the Tuff, part it out for what you have into it.

You so right I just dont want I/O's,but is there really quality stuff ie, Skater, Outerlimits, Cigarette, and such out there,in that ball park, even a cool center console, which seems to be the rage, im just not set up to work on them, every time I needed to example to pull a motor,it had to go somewhere with a over head crain,$$$$ it gets crazy if that 28 tuff ent 90mph I would be ecstatic..... So simple and user friendly

plus for those of us that have or have had a 20ish type superboat progression etc etc etc , theres nothing like hanging one out on the pad, so imagine a single 28 which looks like a stretched out version21, going in the high 80's, over water that the smaller version couldnt handle, that would in my opinion be pretty cool......

Considering this 400r what about steering ? I haven't seen any single 400r steering systems that are similar to what we use

    .

DCB has a setup like this. And Ron might chime in and tell us where to get the steering in the bottom pic. I believe they're Lathams?

Just gotta wait for solid motor mounts to come out (from either Merc or after-market)
