IMPO, I think you will be very disappointed after the first day out. Twins or single BB I/O will be the proper call for a boat like that.
If that boat is not setup to run 100 it will not be enjoyable and actually very boring.....JM2cents.

I agree Tony........that 28 would actually be a badass rig with one of my 588"/800 Sterlings and ASD7!

t, your probably right but what you might not know that boat has a 2 ft cut out in the bottom, years ago superboat made 30s with a 2ft cut out the purpose in his mind was to market it with a single evenrude, I know because I had one and put 2 300 promaxs on it allthough it ran in the mid 90's it was a handfull ..... Mario had to put 100s of lbs in the bow so really its a 26 not a 28

Sounds interesting, proper balance for lift will be the key. Not sure 400 hp will be enough for the performance you will be happy with. But interesting idea..

Can they made a special light weight for a single OB ?

Joe, fully aware of the 30 Tempest!
I owned the old Ocean Outboard race boat with modded 260's that ran very well but was definitely a hand full once it was air out. Not fun or safe with you did not have plenty seat time.... IMPO!
The notch on mine was a solid 3' and was custom built for Tony G which was very light!
BTW, I remember well Mario bolting the elevator weights to your bulkheads.....
Once they notch the boat its like the 30 Act-Rage having the 27 bottom that is why they run so well and fast....
PS; a single 400 will be a MAJOR mistake on that boat!!
Here it is at the 2004 Hot Toddy after I sold it to Tommy and he put those graphics!

I believe we just rebuilt the lowers on that superboat last month.

Not bad if they are still the originals from 2004.
I heard the boat sold last year and the new owner got an amazing deal!! It sat for while without being used.

Unless the motors where changed again they should be 280's that were bought new from Ocean.
