    What mid/lower unit is this?

I'm looking into a new project of a 2005 Seebold F1/F2 composite tunnel (will post more if this project gets underway) and have searched up a 12" mid section and what I believe is a #6 SSM case for this boat.

It looks quite old and I have not seen this "cut" of the exhaust outlet before and can anyone tell me what this is (also the case as I'm not sure...)?

    Thanks!

x2 Make sure all the bushings are tight. Less slop the better.

I have read that the SSM's are quite expensive to rebuild...?
Where should I send it for a check/rebuild (if needed) and what company is best for parts supply?

Anyone that can tell me more about the 12" mid and exhaust plate?
As mentioned it looks old and I think the exhaust outlet looks strange but approx what year can it be and does it look original?

Any idea what price I should pay for this "setup" (have not finalized negotiations yet)...

    Thanks,
    Lars

Could be as old as late 70's, looks original. It is what is known as "studs down" later models are studs up. Gearcase cost really depends if it needs gears or not. http://www.colabellaperformance.com/ is a respected place for the gearcase.

The "offshore style" exhaust outlet on this mid, is it normal to cut/modify this to get the exhaust blow straight backwards and not down?

    Thanks,

    Thanks again Dave!

Here is another pic of the case. I don't know this but does these numbers say anything about it?

This "setup" also comes with an exhaust tuning plate (don't know the right word for it) and can anyone see anthing from this? What motor it is for etc.?

Some do, some don't. If you ever want to sell it that may affect value to a collector or restorer.
