What was the length of the Twin inline tunnels where there any 17 footers?

Did any of the tunnel boat builders build a 17 ft tunnel in the 60's-70's?

In the 60's and 70's people put 2 and 3 motors on lots of boats. Most of the twin motor tunnels like Molinari and Jones, Kitson, were 20+ feet. There were 16 and 17' Dutchman, Magnum and others running 2 engines.

You would have had to have very large Cajones indeed to drive a 17 foot Molinari with twin lumps strapped on the back------i never ever saw anyone do it, think they may have been a tad heavy in the rear end, a fair few 20 footers, both Scotti and Mollinari built them, mainly for the US market.

Yes but, could lack of brains be substituted for insufficient cajones?

I recall at least 2 of the shorter glass Molinaris run with twins. They seemed to run pretty well and I never saw one blow over. On the other hand all of the Magnum Missiles I can remember run with twins blew over eventually. The front cover of the 1969 OPC Nationals program features a picture of Guy Radiano just going past vertical in his twin Missile. The 17 Dutchmans were a mixed bag. They either went over backwards or suffered the dreaded "Dutchman stumble" and either stuffed or hooked.

I have that cover on the wall in my barn..Looks like it was a bad ending! I've been collecting my pieces for my next build and I want a twin....I have 2 1970 135 shorty's or I can run 2 150 shorty's not looking to be period correct but period cool ! I have a 1970 Mystry that is a slash of the magnum or dutch man from what i understand and its a 17.ft I'm going to start on it next month so looking to hear from the voice of experience both good and bad...

Wasn't that Albert in UU-14? I remember Magnum built an enlarged version of the missile that was 19'. Monza marine built a couple but they liked to blow over.
