I typically have to replace my water pump every 4 years on my 2002 225 HO. Impeller looks fine when removed but apparently the blades take a set after a time and begin to loose pumping efficiency. Never had this problem in 13 years of owning a XP 150. Don't know about engine temps but when my water pressure begins to drop 3 to 5 psi anywhere from idle to WOT, I know it's time for a new water pump kit.
