Lookin for Pics of LU water pickup scoops !

I have a Yammy I would like to use on my SLT and could use some ideas for water scoops for the LU. I understand Merc made some for their OBs and would like to see some pictures if anyone has some....or home brewed ones! Thanks Gary

Gary a few years ago I sent Bruster several different styles that I was messing with in the machine shop. Years ago a company called Chaparral, I think that was the name? They sold plastic set that worked but didn't last very long. Mine were based on there design made from aluminum. Bruce might still have some of that stuff layin around?

Mercury introduced those in about 1995, as a band-aid to cure the new 3.0 litre V-6 gearcase water intake woes. They've been available ever since & are still quite proud of them, at $106.58 retail per kit.

They used them on the 2.5 Torquemaster as well, they work well got me full water press 1 1/2" higher. Put them on at 3/4" and got back the water press then lifted another 3/4" and still had the same water press. Never tried to go any higher. Think I have a pic of them installed if you would like me to post.

I new you guys would come thru!!!! They look to me like a small radius of alum. over the intakes attached top and bottom. Do they have a 90deg. bend at the trailing edge to force the h2o into the pump. Can't tell from t-stands add he posted. Dave please post the pic if its not too much trouble. BTW thanks everyone for the help... I'm gonna see what I can whip up. Gary

Gary, Bruce goes by Bruster on here I'm pretty sure ? He sells solid mounts for Mercury's on here also.

They fit flush on the case except for the intake side, Merc ones are stainless steel and come in 2 sizes 2.5 and 3.0L. Will post you some pics later today.

Actually they're made for the saltwater envirement...they're stainless.
