Wellcraft Scarab Sportster Center Console 26' w/300X Prop suggestions
Any recommendations from guys with experience with these hulls. 24" Setback bracket. Thinking trophy or rev 4.

I did the research for my Wellcraft Nova 230XL and Johnny V8 +300hp. I eventually settled on Rev 4. So for running in I have a 21 Trophy Plus, then Rev 4 in 23 and 25. My boat is still not in the water so have not tested out props but I am happy that they will do the business. Another one for consideration would be the Bravo 1 props as run by STV Keith and Wellcraft Scarab Center Console.
Wellcraft Nova 230 XL, 300hp Johnson.
Seahawk 45 Sport Fisher, twin 306hp Volvo.
Steadcraft 28, Yanmar 300hp. Sold.
Markline 800, Volvo 300hp. Sold.
Haines Hunter V19, Volvo 170. Sold.
16ft 6in Figlass Sidewinder, 140 Suzuki. Sold.

Trophy for all around 23,24. I have a 27 TXP 3 blade that may also work well call me when you are ready to run and I'll give it to Billy.

Mike is the bracket fixed or do you also have a powered jack plate on the boat? If it is fixed I'd be surprised if the Merc Rev 4 is not your best overall option with the Bravo 4 a close second. The Rev 4 might give up a couple of mph of top end but the all around handling will be rock solid with a great hole shot for that big Scarab.

On my 26' Scarab Sport w/T-top I currently run a 20p Enertia that is far the best - motor is a 225hp EFI Merc.
Tried several versions of Mirage, boat never wanted to run at a cruising speed around 4k. Rev-4 was a total dog trying to plane, top end also suffered....

The diameter of the Enertia 20p is 13.75" - boat runs 54mph.

So a 13.75" 20p with a 225 efi. Assuming the hulls are similar, what would be my starting point with a 300x for diameter and pitch?
Thanks! Ragu

So....what you going to be doing with the boat? Are you running it by yourself w/quarter tank of fuel or plan on running with multiple people, full tank of fuel, and excessive gear (coolers, fishing, etc)?

used for cruising to restaurants and the beach. 2-8 people. always 1/2 tank of fuel. no fishing. yes to coolers. not looking for speed anymore, want quick planing with a load

Do you know the full throttle operating range (or max) on your 300X (some I believe were 6800)?
I may have a prop for you to purchase that should fill your objectives (quick plane, etc).......Last edited by smirnoff; 05-27-2015 at 05:37 PM.

I have a mint 18 pitch Enertia that should work well for your boat load & motor operating range.

Like I mentioned in the other post I'm currently testing a 22 bravo xs today was the first time I got to run it ...it was a bit choppy so I couldn't open it up all the way but got it to 62 at 58-5900rpm bottom end is sluggish till 2k rpm
