    The adapter is probably corroded behind the upper mount, there's a vertical mold mark right behind the mount that corrodes thru. Quit postin pictures of your Johnson lets see the 4 naked chicks.

    Lol.....I think you're absolutely right it looks like it's coming right near the motor mounts which I can't see up behind it is also nasty I've sprayed everything with carburetor cleaner and got it real clean but its coming from somewhere up there and there's no way I'm going to attempt to take that stuff apart

    I love it....another creative "fix"!!!! Thats how I do short term soft sole "fixes" to get a nonperformance rig thru the season. Like the old used car dealers puttin sawdust in axles to quiet them. Gary
