3 blade exhaust thru props for 4 inch hub gear case in 28-30 pitch range

Does anyone know of a prop that would be similar to a Laser 2 or a Raker that would be made in the 28- 30 pitch range and would fit my 2001 Mercury 125 2 stroke? Ive got a 26 Laser 2 on it now and I can take it well past redline. It has a 2.07 gear so on my little checkmate Im able to hit 62 on a good day and 57 in a decent chop with 2 passengers. I tried a 30 pitch Chopper 2 but getting on plane was near to impossible due to the prop blowout and I would rather not drill my case as noise will be of concern with some of the places I go. Any input would be appreciated.

I had that problem and added a bob's true tracker. After that over hub props planed fine.

Thank You David. I was wondering if something like that would help enough to make a difference.

    they made up to 29 laser 2s. i have a worked 29.

but try a set of doel fins [<$40]. they will get you on plan and will be out of the water at speed. that way a over hub may work on your boat. what check mate do you have?? the 15' boats have a small pad and will fall off of it at 35mph in a turn, scared me to no end.

He needs the even pitched Lasers for the small gearcase.

My brother and I still laugh about the first time we ran my old Virage with the true tracker. Neither of us thought it would change much. The boat just planed and we sat looking at each other.

I've converted to the Allison foil now for no particular reason other than I own an Allison.

I have a 1979 16 ft Predictor. It has a 9 inch pad and Ive recently started to learn how to drive it on pad. Im running a 5.5 inch manual jackplate with a water pressure guage and the top 3 water holes plugged on each side. Im having a lot of fun with it and would like to see what I can get out of this 4 cylinder. I guess I should give a hydrofoil a shot.

I went ahead and ordered a true tracker today.I figured if I'm going to try it I might as well go with the one that has proven to work in a similar situation. Looks like it might help be keep the bow down when at slow speed for slightly faster manatee zone travel.

I tried the trutracker with the 30 pitch Chopper 2. It seemed better at getting on plane yet still is a hastle. I also was running on glass and at top speed of 62 was 400 rpm at least past my redline and was at at %19 prop slip. I was not overtimmed . So Itook my prop down to the local shop here in Cape Canaveral and asked him to add some cup. He said he would goo up 2 sizes in cup. I am hoping this will help across the board. He also said I should try dropping the motor down a very small amount at a time and see what it does for my prop slip and hole shot.

Something just dont seem right. What motor ya have? What is your prop centerline to bottom of pad measure ? Also what exactly does your rig do? Does it cavitate when attempting to climb on or does it labor and not develop rpms?
Laser 1550 ...under construction with a serious weight loss
    Motor 2.4....undecided on hp yet

You could also try Trophy's. Even pitch Trophy's are the right size hub.

1FASTLASER, With the 26 Laser 2 My rpms are too high to go any faster, on a good day with a passenger and a loaded cooler I hit 5800 and My motor rpm range is 4750-5250. I just had Canaveral Propeller add cup to the 30 pitch Chopper2 and it made a big difference. I haven't been able to get a good run in yet as far as top end due to some slight engine trouble the day I tried it out and the next time I had a pretty lady with me that I already scared enough as it was. My prop shaft center is 2.75 below the pad. I had been about 19 percent calc slip and when I was out with the motor running like crap I ran 62 mph at 5200 which would put me at 13% after the added cup. A water separator, went through the carbs and replacing a vacuum hose later we are back running on all 4. Remember My lower unit has a 2.07 gear hence the crazy pitch for such a baby motor.
