sea star helm should you see oil with little fill cap off
from sitting all winter I had to turn wheel back and forth dozens of times to get steering back and snug ,I don't see any oil thru the fill hole
but it sure did have air when I opened fill cap ,thoughts

top it off, bleed the lines. You should always see fluid right up to the fill hole. You should always keep a close watch on the fluid level, only takes a second to check and/or top it off. You won't have to bleed the lines if you keep it topped off.

Thats what I do every year it seems I just add a tiny bit and there it is in view again. Never had to bleed. The little quart of seastar hydrolic fluid Ive been useing is still over 3/4 full. i bought it about 5 or 6 years ago. it wont take much. Have a rag ready or use a syringe.

Eli, you prob have a leaky cylinder. Check the seals at the rod ends.

Even if you think ya got it filled and properly bled. Check it periodically.
