Thanks for that reference post, it was really good reading. You did one hell'va nice job on that boat.

I just don't get it, these are supposed to be professional boat builders with a knowledge base that shouldn't allow this to happen. I guess it's pretty much like everything else these days................IT'S ALL ABOUT THE MONEY, FAST TURNAROUND TIME AND GET IT OUT THE DOOR. The word quality somehow got left out of the build process............

    Thanks again

Bilge is all painted with Epoxy Bilge Paint, 3 coats, turned out pretty nice. Arrows show the motor bolt heads welded onto the stainless backing plates.

Now it's onto the electrical rehab and trying to clean up that mess as well, why they choose to run everything down one side is beyond me. I'm splitting the wire load to both sides of the gunnals and made some wire trays to keep it all up in there nice and neat after it's foam wrapped to prevent chaffing of the wire insulation over time.

I wish................wiring is taking a little longer than expected, maybe I'm just being a little too picky with the wires but it's gonna be done right. Have to pressure test the fuel tank today, then into the boat for locating the tank mounting/securing holes in the knees and drilling them, then it goes to Line-X for getting coating.

Trying to stuff wiring into the gunnel is kick'n my azz. I may have to do another project this winter and run a wire way on the floor. I've split up most everything I can to lessen the bundle size by running wiring in both gunnels. I'm trying to prevent the chaffing of the wire insulation as found when I pulled out the wiring during this project. A few wires were actually chaffed completely through the insulation down to bare copper strands.............NOT GOOD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Progress last night:

    Motor finally wired and rigged,

Pressure testing new tank (old 40 gal vs new 60 gal):

Original interior is going back in for now, maybe a new fresh interior in a few years, original is still in great shape.

I'm being ask how I increased my fuel tank capacity? My 40 gal tank was retro fitted with a sump, the sump utilizes the space in the bilge with clearance all around. Heavily braced internally to support the additional fuel weight. Total capacity is now 60 gal, that doesn't mean I'll be dragging 60 gallons of fuel around all the time, just when the occasion or need calls for it.

Here's some pics from when it was mocked up:
