Saw this boat on craigslist for over a year maybe? I think your price is too high, but it's your boat and you can take as long as you want. I personally don't think it will ever sell at 7500, maybe more like 5000??

Price was just dropped to 6500, It's a clean boat. I've seen similar Hulls( no motor) for 4500ish.

So, was the hull's balsa core properly replaced when the floor was out?

Yes
The bad section of the floor( the main deck, under the captain's chairs) was cut out, it was then re-glassed and the wood was replaced with marine grade plywood. It was done by a professional boat builder/ mechanic. This same person has done countless boats, engine rebuilds, etc. I can get you in touch with him, although it has been a few years. The boat has spent more time on a trailer than in the water.

I'm not talking about the floor. I was asking about the core-- The end grain balsa layer sandwiched between the layers of the hull, from which the hull gets its strength.

What Pyro is referring to is--unfortunately--if it has not been replaced, in a professional manner, in the recent past--in other words, if never replaced--then it is probably compromised. Do a search on "core replacement" and "HydroStream" and you will see how common this practice is with ALL HydroStreams, but ESPECIALLY the YT models from 1986-1988 (all YT--bowrider and closed deck), as these in general were never laid up properly from initial construction. Please note that this is not an attempt to hurt the chances of the sale of your boat---but rather, to save someone the heartache and expense of having to do this after the sale, and/or worse yet, the risk of delamination at high speed, resulting in potential injury and/or loss of life as a result. So please, to save a potential purchaser the possibility of this scenario, accept the possibility (really, the very high probability) that if it has not been replaced professionally, the core likely needs to be replaced.
On the positive side, that Mercury cowl in your photos is extremely rare, and a nice find.
