Thank you everyone for your advice. I'm not 100% sure if there are better ratio's for the m2 but every one I have asked over here have said no. I honestly am not sure on the weight of my rig but does not seem very heavy to me. I do have a torque tab on it which I have now faired in whilst doing the nose cone. I will try to get hold of a 34et not many second hand over here. Will let you guys know how it goes and what mph I get with the cone on it.
One again thanks for all your help.

Slick rig. My educated guess on weight is probably around 1200 lbs with no driver. There are a lot of variables but I bet that's not too far off. Be nice to get that motor on a Mad EFI mid with a 1.62 Sportmaster. Then you would see a significant increase in speed. Love the sound of those motors

Thats a lightning STV COPY. I highly doubt its that light. Do the hull ID numbers start with LPB OR STV? I say its a Lightning because I dont see the louvers on the rear deck where it slopes down and I dont see the inserts molded into the deck on the outside sponsons. Also STV's never had black rub rail only Lightnings did. I know John shipped a few of them over there so it may be one of his.

    Gordon's turns a 35p through a 1.62 to 7500 but it's not stock

move the motor up until you waterpressure drops then drop it down 1/8". Have your current 34 tightened up at a good prop guy you might get over 100 but you need a 1.62 or a bigger prop to go faster.

Lol! I think I need one too! No matter what the Mercury will never sound as good as the OMC and also don't make the power the OMC does. Trouble is I don't know the first thing about them

    Hi guys

Nearly finished fitting my nose cone to my gear case. I spoke to a local guy who races down here and he recommended filling in the upper water intake grates as he said at heigh engine hight and them open the water from the nose cone might suck air what do you guys think? Have you heard of this being done before? Also might be able to get my hands on a 15x32 4 blade brake cleaver does anyone have a rough idea on what it should run with that? As I have my first race coming up at the end of this month
