Yup, they would make a couple of good barge motors, convert them to CNG, heck they'd run forever.

Lets try and get this thread back on track. Had the pleasure of riding in this boat today and it's a beast, just cruising along at 7000 rpms is crazy. Turns like it's on rails and ate up the moderate chop running across the bay. Also ran the 25' SCB Widebody rigged with a 400R and it's as if that engine was built for that hull, gains of nearly 10 mph over the 350 Vrod. The 400 is crazy strong and quiet, way quieter at speed than the previous Verados imo. Going to drawing board trying to figure out how to shift around enough weight to put one on my 22' Full Tunnel Stingray

Agree with you about getting the thread back on track. Whether you like the 400R or don't, getting real feedback about it on a smaller hull is great. Thanks and keep it coming. Also, it seems like you guys are properly equipped to hang the motor on a scale and get an accurate weight with fluids and lube. That would be interesting.

Come see the 400RACE, don't know why they figured a marketing sticker would push the sales beyond what the motors' ability should do on its own. Still would like to see a dyno sheet on pump gas. And as far as production car engines, I don't see RACE motor stickers on any, because they aren't RACE engines. RACE engine use RACE fuel and haven't been production order available since the golden age late 60s. The limited special order blown DOHC FORD, blown LS, blown CHRYSLER HEMI as far as a know don't say RACE with a big sticker .Tour the plant to see it put together, what's that going to change, Ya it's a great motor but not race. RACE engines Type 935 2.65 l. 6 cyl , 635+hp 30+years ago and that didn't have a RACE sticker on it.
Not sure how you can say what "Race" is in the current environment of government regulated mandates. as far as 4 stroke O/B's produced today that are yet to be welcomed into the "Racing World" with the one exception of a class in Europe of the "Formula 4" offshore class, We are on New Ground. regretfully, this is the future unless you can come up with a multi- millon dollar budget to further the 2 stroke effort. So I am open to it, just want to understand what I'm spending my money on is a platform that I can rely on for a long number of years as the price is going to be a high hurdle to clear. I want to know about fuel requirements, hour limits before re-build, etc. etc. heck a 69 302 camero only made a touch over 300 hp. 4 is pretty strong. on the other hand, I can buy a nice plane for 27k and run around the country at 200 mph and have a good re-sale. Fun Out

Yes. This is a big hull. The 300XS on this exact boat ran 68 best. We have seen 80 on rev limit best so far w 400R.

This perticular boat has big audio, seat box w insulated Livewell & and extra wide console, among other speed robing items. We can configure one to run faster and do have one being built now w speed as a priority that gets a 400R.

    On a light Widebody w 300XS we saw 73 w 300XS power. I expect to see 80-85 w a light WB/400.

I see how you have a 400r most people just film with a gopro.. haha Nice footage looks great! just kidding around btw I wonder what a LCB could do with a 400R seems it could handle the weight since they have little girth?
