SCB SV-22 / Mercury Racing 400R
The 400R proving to be the real deal guys. It's a power monster. We are seeing 10-12 mpg gains over our long time favorite 300XS.

350SCi vs 400R
We repowered one of our Stingray 255 Widebody / 350SCi rigs w a new 400R. Gains of ez 10 mph! Prop change may revile more, as we are in to the hard rev limit of the 400R's 7000 range.
Pic of the Widebody/400R aired out at 80mph.

Nice trim angle and nice boat attitude. That gearcase is definitely working. Nice package and nice work!
A problem is only a problem when viewed as a problem...

Outside of awesome motors, Mercury Racing def knows how to build fast gearcase and props.

How about a water or alc. water injection with improved tune and boost? Not sure how much boost they run , but a tune controlled wastegate that will shut for a couple extra pounds of boost with water/alc . injection under certain high need conditions or a flip of the switch and keep the normal boost levels when not injecting. If they made 400 the thing wil do more, no doubt and say together.

2.6 Liter making 400 HP is about all I would want to see and have the engine live. That is only a 160 Cubic inch motor. That would be like a 350 Chev making over 800 hp. That is very impressive.

Anybody have the dyno sheet? Variable cam timming, great chambers maybe even dimpled , tear one down. 400+ at the crank , still more can be had if it is a RRRRRace and not just a consumer R. Do they run a cat?

I completely agree with you.......it's making almost the same power per ci as the blown alcohol 468 in my drag hydro. There's no American made consumer car engines making that kind of hp per ci. A lot of guys just don't realize the kind of power that engine is already making for it's size, including a warranty!

Ya, great motor. Just goes to show how backwards things are. But still , more can be had from it no doubt. The dyno numbers please. I know of a turbo Buick thats all street friendly and would crush those HP/ci numbers. And lives on and on to tell about it!!!!
