    Yeah, another IPA fan! I think we can work something out. I have sh-- hitting the fan in my life presently so I can't move on anything like this right now. Come Summer I'm sure I can get time. Would love a ride in your Ally, too.
    Does the gear case need to be off the motor and emptied of its contents?

    Yes. gear case needs to be drained and removed from the mid. We'll grind the paint off where the cone mounts up and stitch some tack welds to hold the LWPU cone on. Fill the intake cavity up with polyurea and the cone sides with filler and smooth and prime. Its a few hours work. You can full length weld but its really not necessary and you'd most likely want to at least pull the shaft assy out to do that. MIG welding from a spool gun runs pretty cool and you won't get any measurable distortion out of the whole process.
