if sealed right and stored properly wood not as big a deal as one woild think. As Pete said Hydrostream gave wood and balsa boats a bad rep. I have a 1980 Cougar and a 1988 BAJA still solid with no rot.

Allison is just smart enough to begin with no wood you always get caught in the rain and when you have to clean the carpets its just rotting away somewhere kinda like rust...

90's models of any XB were all composite. The two XR's, the 2001 and 2002 had wood. The XR2001 still does unless ordered all composite

All xr02's had wood transoms except for several late builds in the early - mid 90's..

All other Allison's were either aluminum or steel transoms.. (Xb's, GS, xtb, xr01, ss)
The XTB-21 Allison's did have wood until somewhere around 1990 or 1991.

The XR-2001's have composite transom's, just the floors and bulkheads are wood.
They have been built that way since day one.

I wonder if they built some wood and some not? My 89 xtb was no wood.

That transom is probably why the boat became a write off. They must have hit something at speed and totalled the transom and never bothered restoring...
