    93 mercury 150 black max 2.0 what can be done to improve hp

    its a bone stock 2.0l 1993 whatc an be done ? on a moderate budget

    probably get some disagreement here but think your better off sellin' power head then find a 2.5 of sorts (150/200) and be ahead of tha deal... unless its somethin' ya just wanna do jus ta be doin' it!!...anytime ya go ta cuttin' and changin' things tha reliability goes south ta some extent.... plus tha $$ it takes ta get IT done/$$ for new parts since ya got it all down anyway .....jmo

    If ya dead set on doin' yours contact James Perry (wrechin2) or Chris Carson on here...........

    It's all in what you want to get out of it. If you are looking for a little more punch I would resurface the heads for a little more compression and install some Chris Carson reeds.

    All about your final goal. Imho you own it have fun with it.

    yeah iguess its what you wanna do alright its hard to recall what i did in 1980 when i got my first 2.0 seems like i spent a sh%t load of money buying magic props fuel injected lug nuts for my trailer an such ,cutting heads and drill holes all over, putting a cone on the lower (HAHAHA what a waste of time on the lower) then solid mounts and on and on after it was done and done maybe 2 mph ,all of a sudden i figured out what a 200 was then a 225pmax some years later( but sadly i never got over the less do this syndrome) so cut on youll get on to "NEXT" soon enough and good luck enjoy the ride

    lots of guys on here looking for the same results Tommy how can i make what i got like run like what i wish i had we give our hard earned advice but most of them pay it no mind and go head any way cuz there deal is different how many time have we said hey lets try this out many, many times and im still doing it. i will have the block black tomorrow the one with the 5.50 port heights and cut up bout every where else im going to A6 this one with some 56lb fuel to it bout 125% and some 30cc heads ta start

    I had a 2.0 on my 19' bay boat, sold it got a 2.5.. wow.. what a difference.. I did not even need any aftermarket stuff.. thing runs out great now.. big huge difference. and they were both 150s.

    That's how I feel right now after going from a 140hp TOP, to a '85 2.0 150hp blackmax.
