Been playing with the motor and learning how to work on outboards for the last few months. Took it to the marina to do my final idle speed and low speed timing. Figured I would offload it and run it to the sandbar for a minute. All I can say is Barney and company built and build bad ass boats. With a 35 year old stock 2.4 200 Black Max and a bent chopper prop the boat went 61.5 mph with no trim adjustment or movement of the jackplate and under 5000 rpm. I had a total of three three people on the boat, two trying to sit in the cooler area in front of the console. Boat is a work in progress. Going to buff out the color and start working on the interior while I play with it. Uflex silversteer or Seastar Pro steering will be next. I have no idea what this boat is capable of in its current form. Going to keep it old school where possible, keeping the original leaning post, console and teak platform, but modern where safety is concerned. Brother in law will be posting his up soon. His is coming out like a show boat. Mine will be his ugly step sister. Then one more coming up from my nephew. His will be the one that hauls ass and flys on the drain plug. My brother in law are too old for that. We just respect and love quality boats. And nothing comes close to these Actions.

Great to see & hear. Sooo much more potential than the Paramount. Congradulations on a nice find.

Can't wait to see these. Amazing that you've managed to get three of them in your family!

Some early pics. Had to remove side tanks from the boat and checked the stringers. Looks tight. Going to test tank to see if it is any good. Using a plastic tank in the back currently. Finding them was easy, getting them was not. For some reason each one had its own issue to obtain. But patience paid off. There is a Olypmia I think, or Action on Craigslist now for $6,000.00. Not sure if it is a titled Action.

No work, just another quick ride to the Sandbar at Haulover. Boat ran 64.5 mph on gps with three people and then 67 mph gps with my nephew the wheel by himself. Water had a little chop which made it interesting over 60. Just trying to run the motor and get the kinks out. Putting on my worked Tempest 22 next week and then working our way up. Motor is running great, working on getting steering, either Uflex silver steer or Seastar Pro.

Pulled the Hynautic single ram and I am replacing it with a Seastar Pro helm and ram. Going slow since I am in the Keys every weekend with my Paramount. Put the pop up cleats and other hardware on. Mine is going to be a rat racer type boat like the old cars with primer we used to drive as kids. Now, my brother in laws boat is fricking beautiful. He is out of paint and having it rigged next week. That boat on the other hand is a show boat. Trying to get pics to post.

Just put the Seastar Pro helm and ram on. I am running it a couple of times of week just to get a feel for it. So far the best prop is the Cleaver that it came with. I am trying a 21 Tempest this week. It could not get on plane with the 22 worked Tempest. I am checking the cables to make sure I am getting wide open throttle, motor idles amazing and cruises perfect. Pretty sure I am breaking it down this winter and putting a tank in. I love my Paramount. But this boat is like riding a dirt bike. When it takes off, hold on and ride it. You cannot help but smile. I know I have said it before, but there is not one stress crack on this boat. These boats were very well made. Brother in laws had a set back in paint and went back into the shop to get re painted. Should be rigged this month and on the water.

...you could flip & wax it, in no time, right...lol. I think it would sell better than the Paramount, after a couple of updates. Not a bad size for this economy were in, as well.
