If you can store in a heated garage bigger than 23ft at no addition cost i would to. i think it all boils down to what you need not want.Storage or not. Year round morage fees, room in the yard ,uses like skiing tubbing with the kids ect... All the normal criteria one should always consider when buying a boat. If I could keep a 30fter in my garage i would. Also I would need to up grade my truck. These are all things to consider. skiing behind much bigger than 23fter wouldnt be much fun also. So if you just want to look good drive fast and can keep the boat at the lake and not have to launch her every single day or drive threw town every day bigger works. its all a matter of what ya want from your boat and how you want to use it.
One more thing:] you start getting much bigger than a 23ft Allison and you start loosing that neck break acceleration and maneuverability. tats the fun factor of these boats for alot of us.At 23ft with a stock 300xs my guess if that's still there. Launching everday buy your self isnt as much of a chore also. its not about the cost its about the useability and what you want in a boat and were ya boat that matters the most. i would love a 33ft 5000HP Skater. But i wouldnt use it near as much as one like this.Last edited by whipper; 03-13-2015 at 08:57 AM.

I heard a rumor that the two 225X motors that just got sold on this site were bought by the Allison folks for the new 23 to test it with twins.

I've said it before if he built a 26'-30' twin engine boat with a cubby cabin it would sell but the new gs is just to much money for what it is you still would have a hard time on the great lakes or other big water with it

Someone mentioned a trailer that hold up well in salt water. For flats boats there is somewhat of a cult following for Ameratrail trailers. They are made in central florida and you can order them with as much custom materials as you want. He may want to meet with the owners and see what they will do. They are sturdy for salt water and fit like a glove.

They have been testing the GS in a 23 from the original 24 for so long now pretty sure that's what she will be for length. One thing about Darris as Lee said she will be as close to perfection as Darris can make her before anyone else gets there hands on one. Im sure she will be all of that! Ya might be expensive for most people but for the ones that can afford a new boat that fits in most garages she will be quite the piece of work and perform like all Allison s. Top of the food chain for there size and purpose with the least amount of power. I better start selling plasma now to!

For me, 18-20 foot is the ideal size. Bigger won't fit my garage and won't fit on my marine railway.
A bigger boat is too big for good slalom skiing. I also like the feel of smaller boats. More connected to the water.
Do marine railways exist in the US? My brother made ours out of aluminum, but you can get the idea from the link below.
