    300x rigging question

Been working at this awhile.... these 2 wires on the harness (temp & trim sensor), i cannot find the wires on the engine for connection. Any ideas where to look? Will they be color coated the same? I see a purple & grey on the engine, but they look for diagnostic.

Also, if anyone can save me the time looking it up, loose hose at the bottom with the nylon fitting, connects to the block right around the location of reeds.

    Thanks for the help.

Not smartcraft. This is an 02 300x, I think a couple years before the smartcraft came along. I'm running standard gauges - rpm, fuel, trim, voltage & temp. Thanks,

I do recall seeing some sort of adapter harness to rig the 300x to smartcraft. But, I don't believe they were originally set-up that way. I have the harness & gauges all installed, only thing remaining for electrical is these 2 connections.

Cant tell for sure but the loose hose with the fitting should go to you oil tank in boat to pressurize the tank. I believe my brown wire goes to the analog water temp gauge. Not sure of the other wire

I will have to look... the harness is a 8 pin connector + these 2 wires. I believe the engine connector to have 8 as well. The trim gauge is not working now, so don't think it's included in the connector.

Right, the hose was to the oil tank - thanks. The two wires are engine temp & trim sensor, just can't find their corresponding connection on the engine. I see the temp sensors on the head, but the wires go into the ECU from their.

this is from the 2001 300x
but yours is probably the same
number 40 is the trim sensor
maybe it was optional or never was installed on yours
probably the same with the temp sender
no extra holes in the heads?

after looking through it some more ( it,s pretty big )
you probably have a digital trim sensor now
which your going to have to swap out for analog
and pretty sure you will have to install the extra temp sensor
the same as from older engines ( pre 2000 )

Awesome ~ Thanks. Think I have the 2nd sheet you posted, but not the first. Anyway you can get me a clear pic of it (how to install analog in place of digital)? Guessing the temp may also be included in the 8 pin connector. The harness may be made to suit different models.

Finally found a great page with all the part #s between digital and analog. Good reference if anybody else comes across this issue:
