13' allison checkmate mx13 ? 100$ but what is it?

I just found this project boat, i don't know what it is and the owner says its home made but i looks kinda like the 13' allison, it dosnt have any numbers but it is 13'. anyone know what it is or is it really
homemade? either way it comes with the little jackplate on it and a hot foot throttle for 100$. it has a pad so thats a plus. also anyone know what kind of process it would be to get the boat registered in fl? worth 100$?

. I agree. The foot throttle is a Nydahl and if it in good condition, its well worth the $100

not a ALLISON or ROYAL CRAFT...looks like a CHECKMATE...fun little boats...I think it being under 16' you might just get away with a bill of sale stateing it's homemade, make shure you have a weight slip, and maybe a picture stripped down before you clean it up, bill of sale with price and date of sale, pay the sales tax and register it, get a quick title ($8.00 extra) walk out with a fresh FLORIDA title for around $100.00....good luck...

Don't think so w/that pad and strakes.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

unfortunately no i kick myself in the ass for getting rid of that boat but i moved to florida, i would love to find another bullet for a project but its impossible. so i been looking for another project and stumbled on this, but with it having no number makes me iffy because if i cant register it what is the point.

What are my odds with it getting it registered as homemade i dont want to waste the money if i can put it toward another boat. i will have him check under the top deck also.

I been doing alot of research and it does indeed look like a mx13. the boat has the "v" on the top deck like the checkmate and the rear overlapping rubrail also.

Here's some promotional material from 1972 for the MX-13 from checkmate-boats.com I bought a 1970 checkmate MX-14 in August 2013. I posted a few pics over on the checkmate blog because I knew that there have been some "checkmate clones" in the past. They were able to verify that it was a checkmate pretty easily. They've got a lot of factory and race pictures of these boats. From what I can see, all the lines in the deck seem to be right, and with the slight hump on either side of the back of the deck. Maybe you can cross reference these measurements on this ad to yours just to check. Checkmate did have what I believe is called an "ID plate" that said the model and possibly the horsepower rating. At some point someone took it off my boat, but you might still have it somewhere on there.

It's either a modified MX13 or a clone. Like Gator said the strakes and pad are not correct for an original MX13 bottom.

That'd be my bet. Pad was added.

If it's a checkmate it's an old Bucyrus, OH boat. Just down the road apiece from Baja. Neither were quite hip to pads back then.

I built that boat in 1985. I had a Force 85 on it. I put the slide pad on it and removed the splash well as well. If you dig beneath the white and maroon paint, you'll see the original black and gold gel. It is an MX-13 Checkmate. It did 67 MPH and outran many claiming much more. That was before GPS.
