BOB, it is funny how that old used prop will out perform some of the very expensive new props.
Only a 30 Hoss out ran it on my 02 and that was only 2 mph better with a worse holeshot.

I discovered pretty quick that this boat does not like to run right down the middle of the river channel at all once up on the pad. Swift current through there and the even though its smooth up on top of the water it was getting knocked all over the place and was getting pretty nasty chine walk. Side channels are real easy though as long as I lean to the center to balance the boat out. Kind of like walking a tight rope.

Still a lot easier to drive than my old checkmate although that boat I could trim the motor damn near out of the water and it wouldnt care. The Allison goes to keel neutral and not a bit more.

Wired what's your limiter at with the svs? I tryed a ton of 30,s but a stock 28 performance props drag3 got me some of my best speeds and easy to drive above 95 jacked to 1/4 above. One things for sure when you go above even with the pad from 1/4 below its an Erie feeling a 1/2 an inch makes when your riding so high. Takes a little getting used to to trust it. Water needs to be perfect. Not something i like to do every day. 93-95 is dam good!! Still above most setups with such little power.

The limiter on the ACU is set at 7400. I havent even gotten close to that. I havent gone over 6500 with this motor and 1.87 sportmaster. I'm thinking a 28 chopper would do me good.

I started out 1/4" over and dropped down to 1/4" under as it was all over the place when it was above the pad. Ive only got about 4 hours of drive time with this boat so I'm waiting not so patiently for good weather.

Yeah . Had it out today after work and with a full tank of gas, tackle, assorted gear and a passenger was running 93.4 MPH . I was able to inch the trim up a bit more this time. Man, that thing is a lot easier to drive with a passenger balancing things out not that its that difficult without. I had read these boats took a long learning curve to master driving on the pad. Glad that was a load of crap. I think the right prop would knock it up a couple more MPH at least.

So when you are running by yourself you are not using any portside ballast ? I've got at least 40 lbs in my port side storage space near the rear seat . Some amazing speeds listed here for boats loaded with people and gear !

    One 230 lb driver
One 40 lb lead weight on the passenger side cubby
one 10 lb lead sinker rear port side box
One 10 lb iron anchor rear port side box
One 20 lb tool bag in the rear port side box
One 12 lb tackle box in front
    No trolling motor.
    No trolling motor batteries.
30 gallon fuel tank plus full 2 gallon surge tank located in front of the main tank
3 water skis in the pole locker ( forgot to take them out after I moved to the new house. I havent skied in years )
6 fishing poles in the pole locker

Passenger weight 120 lbs and it balanced nicely. Without the passenger I was having to lean far to the port side to keep it balanced on the pad. Without the SVS hooked up I was only running 88 MPH but with a full live well. Not quite apples and oranges as I havent tried it with the live well empty but Its running a good 5 MPH faster with the SVS hooked up and thats only at 6600 RPM. When I bought the SVS Chris Carson told me he thought I'd be disappointed in it. I'm not.

.015" over 225 promax 145 lbs compression with squish cut 34 CC heads at 145 lbs compression , one inch spacer, simon alternator kit , 16 amp flywheel, Brucato ACU and SVS, Stock porting, 36 PSI fuel pressure, 200 2.4 tuner, offshore mid.
