    sob class 7

Since the sob thread was pulled I thought I would start a new one.
The old one was pulled because the thread starter got tired of all the negative things that were allways being hashed out that wasn't the intent of the thread .
The intent of this thread is to talk about the class in general to make it better to help each other out and keep the appearance in pubic forum in good taste for the opa because without the opa there is no racing .
So if your here to bash or just be and a hole turn your computer off and go sit on your couch and tell your self how great you are because the rest of us are here to be fairly serious.

Thanks Gary pfe racing your future class champion
Ok maybe just finishing a race is a start

Class 7 is a great way to get started in boat racing. Don't make the mistake in thinking it is entry level, the racing is fierce. While bracket racing isn't for everyone, it produces competitive, run what you brung racing.

    Well said!
It will also take common sense, good smart aggressive driving and the very important proper setup for each race! Also being that these boats are small they will not be so forgiving if improperly setup for each race condition!
IMPO, excessive or over powered to run 60mph will not make you win races in this class!
GL and most importantly be safe all!!

++1, very impressive seeing these boats run in all conditions of the OPA circuit. Takes serious effort, dedication and talent to compete, safety and fulfillment to all OPA 2015 class 7 Racers!

From what I was told they are going to try to have a class 7 conference call later this week so pass the word to the teams and check in here.
I will pass any word I get as fast as I get it and if anybody else hears anything pass it on.

Meeting at awards was pretty good. Smitty was saying that he'd like to see everyone start leaning towards a 250HP Max by 2017 2 yrs from now. So if for some reason a motor pops replace with the 250 Max in mind. It was spoke about no "300X" motors. Not exactly sure how that ended up until we see it written I guess. But if you have one, not a bad idea to think about selling it cause its not aloud in the future. I'm in with conference call for sure. Waterboy had some old GPS sheets with way more info than we saw last yr. we kind of all agreed if when class 7 race was over if we could get all GPS turned in with in a designated time, then results could be posted sooner and take out the debates. LIVE AND DIE By sheets. Don't transmit, DQ, Break out.. Lose. if we could get everyone to agree, which pretty much all did in meeting. Then no arguements later.
Love to see the class grow like wild fire and have many boats.
you know there was also talk about 200 HP MAX and no GPS Run what you brung. HAS TO BE A STOCK 200 though. that could be food for thought.

Smitty said no engines over 300, not just 300x. This will be in the rule book soon. Someone asked about a 300 E-Tec, he said he would look into what it really makes for HP, and that he maybe better off with a 250.
Heres to a great season of racing!

    No Go....

Rules are 22' and smaller. They grandfathered the Bay Rat boat in becuase of the swim platforms. Doubt this would fly although it would also most likely dominate with a promax 300.
