Interesting. I assume the deadrise difference between the two bottoms is negligible but the loss one set of strakes on the new bottom looks(to me) to be loosely like what Howard did when he designed the Viking/Vking. I'm curious to see how this one shakes out.

If it's faster, it'll be partially because the boat lost probably 150lbs. in this process. More deadrise toward the bow will reduce the pounding, more depth effectively raises the transom height, and another 2" of running surface length will help support the big mota.
