Heres one for ya 2.5merc ecu issues

I have 2x s3000 motors on spins left and the other right on a v bottom what I have happening is port motor just shuts down from time to time.
Now this is where it gets hard if I run my brucatos no issue at all.
Run merc ecms port motor plays up I have swapped them over and tried another set for good luck and it will just stop on me.
Since the first time to now I have replaced stators, triggers, rectifiers switch boxers.
All engine wiring.

Any thoughts will be great.

Does it seem to be related to outside air temp?

were these 849849 ecu,s?
and did you run the ground wire from the casing to ground?

Had some issues with early digital ECU's shutting down when they got to hot. Outside temp of 95 plus equaled under cowl temp of 120 or so. ECU would just shut down then be fine once it cooled off. A lot like my iPad! Couldn't do anything to remedy it other then replacing the ECU.

Onetime Not sure of what ecus are on it but i never have issues on the starboard motor and can put either ecm on the starboard side and not one issue.

Pan Ronnie Earth cable is on the the lower ecu mount nut sitting on the casing

I'm confused. You can put the ecu on another motor and no problems? Your problem may be in the injector harness. Have you used a cleaner and brush on the ecu plug?
