    I have not.

Customs must still be trying to figure out what kind of goofy engine has a flat spot in its bore. LOL.

Kind of have to agree to a point. BP on the right boat is an awesome engine, not the best motor for the average guy. Can't always condem the BP right hull and owner they are fine. PM is a great motor have one of each, don't kill the BP cuz if not for it would not have a 260, PM, or 280. Kinda like saying crush all 69 Z-28's and all 427 big blocks. Someone has to keep the original sh@t alive.
    In this case I agree.

an promax is just a better choice in anyway you stack it, parst ready, in stock, no 150 hr plate life, no forged piston, no external tpi, no analog ecu, no cracked bridges, no flat spot machined on piston with 1/16 holes to cool the bridge , like i said before i scrapped three whole motors a few years ago i never thought about it again, i saved my self lots of work money and performance problems

my BP cracked a bridge last year and I went the promax route. I was dissapointed in the beginning because I loved the "hot rod" feel the BP had but this dissapointement feeling went away pretty quickly after I ran the promax. I've parted most of the BP and as of now I actually made money with it since I originally got a super deal on a nice promax. shure I lost 1000rpm's and the unique bridgeport sound, but I gained a couple of mpg's and piece of mind. I boat around 50hrs a year and I just didnt have the founds to run a nic motors with all those rebuilts every 2 seasons. those gold ring cost a fortune to replace, parts are getting harder and harder to find. and as for re-sale value, unless the buyer wants a bridgeport, 9 out of 10 times people are down right scared of it..

ohh and in the end...with the right prop..I picked up 2mph with the promax. not bad if you ask me!

Hmmm seams to be a be a trend. I just did the same thing. Went from bp to promax . And other than a cooling issue. (Motor runs to cool) I am Happy Happy Happy.

How much of a pain in the ass is it to weld the bridges? try to save the motor for a season or two of fun times, and keep motor below say 6,800 and not run long runs keep an eye on temp guage, what is considered getting hot for this motor? 2.4 EFI Bridge?
    Thanks, JIM

    thanks,

yeah that is good boating, i think between my two boats, i would do that, depending on the weather. Were there a lot of PM 225's made? and what do they typically go for in decent shape, too bad guys usually want to sell when motor tired. Red line on PM 225? best part sleeves can be fixed if an issue. right? JIM
