ODBA HAS APPROVED THAT WE CAN RUN A SIX TWO BARRELL CARBURATED SET UP IN MODIFIED PRODUCTION , BUT WE CAN NOT USE THE "X" FRONT INTAKE. ANY IDEAS OR SUGGESTIONS ON AN INTAKE SET UP?

Does the intake have to be from the motor manufacturer?

Here are a few pictures. The first one is the setup Freddie has when it was in my shop. The other two are pics I had from somewhere....

More of the same setup. I don't recall where I saved them from.

Last photo in post #5 appears to be the one John Gibbs made which is what I had. I sold them on a dressed powerhead around 1989 to a guy down south. I ran that set up at Parker enduro in 89 and it worked really well.

I didn't know these were so popular. I will look into having some made. I have an extra set of f1 v8 carbs they are 1 3/8"

Interesting.
I might need to have a set Freddie.
According to my math the area of a single big bore (approx. 1.650") plastic carb is 2.55 sq. in.
A two barrel with 1 3/8" venturis is 4.30 sq. in.
That represents a 70% increase in area boys and girls.
Plus those intakes eliminate 1/2 of the dumb ass bends and curves that lead from the back of the carb to the entry of the reed.
I passed on one of these set ups yrs ago but it was sans linkage and I wasn't interested in going down that road.I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

What reed cages are used? Production or custom ones to match those intakes?...
