Allison winged tunnel boat
Jack did an awesome job on that boat....
I saw it when we delivered the STV molds to his shop. Its was in terrible condition...
I was by his shop a few weeks ago for a quick visit........it looked like a totally different boat.
I knew some of the history of that boat/
It was my one of my old girl friends Allison race boat. (I married her later, or you might say she married me)
Robin raced it one year in APBA and NOA in SF class (tunnel boat with 80 HP Merc) in 1974.
She always came in second place. She never liked second place.
The only guy she couldn't out run was a guy named Roark Summerford who raced a wooden tunnel boat he built himself.
GREAT JOB BY JACK and FULL THROTTLE Powerboats....
It looks better than when Robin had it back in 1974.

This boat was bought by Don Graham from Bateman Marine in Augusta,Ga in the early 70's. My father and Mr. Graham ran a small Johnson/Glassmaster dealership on highway 17 in Savannah called Bluewater marine. When I was in elementary school the bus would drop me off at the dealership and I would spend a lot of afternoons sitting in that boat pretending to be a race boat driver, you can image what it looked like sitting next to all of those square bowriders! Over the years I would occasionally inquire about buying the boat from time to time but the answer was always no. One day I ran into Don at the parts store and mentioned buying the boat and after a long pause he told me to come get the thing. After watching this boat go from as new condition to the 'haul it to the dump' over a period of about 30 years I knew it would be an injustice for me to get it just to let it continue to decline. My cousin Bucky Morel has a soft spot for all types of old cars, trucks, equiptment, boats and especially in-line Mercurys , so I knew he would be the perfect new owner for this piece of history! The boat had sat in the open so long that trees had actually grown up around and through the original painted gator trailer it was on. Bucky brought a flat bed trailer and somehow the three of us got it loaded up. It was delivered to Jack, it is hard to believe it is the same boat!

Noticed this on the Allison site just now and wondered why nobody seems to have mentioned it on this site. Very sad.
