You mean Brians black and silver vking? Thats a 20 mid on it. Prob just the way the picture is taken that makes it look that high. Then again you cant go fast with the motor buried in the water.

    Jim,

You came to the right place for info on the YT's. There are a few guys on here that have good experience with them. Post up some pictures of your boats, we would love to see them and we will try to help you in any way we can. Many on here are in WI.

At First i ran my HST with my Stock 200 hp and got a Very nice 87 MPH by myself, considering motor was abused before i got it...lol. Came of my Laser LTV that i could only get to 82 mph with same motor. Then Fort Fremont, suggested a Bridgeport and they found one ported by a guy who knew his stuff, with that Beast i could take 4 friends 90 mph. With a 26" Chopper. and my gf at the time who weighed like 110 lbs and i hit 97 mph on a 13/26 Torq shift prop until blade broke at 97 mph coming around the turn from Lake Butte Des Mort into Winneconne. Expensive prop shaft repair but no motor damage. Whew. I NEVER ran a shift prop with shaft that pivots the size of my thumb surfacing again!!! It was insane out of the hole with the Bridgeport put my muscle cars to shame!

Here are the two Steams i had two years ago, my 85 Valero and my 79 Vector. Mint Shape, but too small i usually take 3 people minimum for rides. Fun fast out the hole little boat! Super sharp lines! Like a Rocket on the Launch pad when on lift!

The prob with the yt hulls that I have seen is that there is no true pad support on the inside of the hull....Hydrostream built most yt's and xt with this Fiberglass ski locker system that I guess worked for a bit in hull life but never gave the support as one would think and most pads give way and thus opens up cracks on the sides of the pads and well over time windows in for water..Then the core rot is under way..I have 2 vking yts that ive recored and rebuilt..
1 my Yts almost sank from just this happening..

I 69ed the ski lockers in both my yts and run soild strings in the pads of both.. And I lov it..They are tuff now.

    Now i have Two Valero's
Yellow Vee is my tubing, friends and a cooler bombing around boat, with a 150 Mariner now, a real Champ that starts mint, low hours and is a super reliable motor, i am thinking i most likely will go back to my 2.5 1991 200 hp. on Valero Vee since i want a little more speed than 68 mph this year. lol. I had it on Vee when i tested my red steering wheel with Sea Star on Vee which was Saweet but put steering and 200 hp on my YT Since it matched seats with red piping, and sold the blue wheel that came in Vector with SeaStar.
