    what size jack plate for a hydrostream vegas v hull?

    Depends on your goals... To carry a heavy driver/passenger, 8" or maybe even 10". To drag race, or to enjoy faster planing and less Low-speed porpoising, or especially if you have enough power to push thru the midrange to where natural aero lift takes over, requiring less trim and COG lift, 6" might be enough, particularly if the hull is lightweight.

    Good friend of mine had one and ran a 10" I was just about right.The only issue was although his boat appeared very solid the transom and bottom made him nervous.Id stick with 6 to lesson the stress a bit,adding more HP should counter any speed loss difference.His did not porpoise at all that I remember.
